Prairie Gardens – Part of Sturgeon County’s Incredible Bounty

There’s an incredible hidden gem just north of Edmonton near Bon Accord at Prairie Gardens.  This is no ordinary garden. This is a 35 acre adventure farm with arcade games, greenhouses, a pumpkin cannon (and a corn cob cannon for the little tykes), berry u-pick areas, a petting zoo, a haunted house, wagon rides, a mini train, a 7 acre corn maze, and much more.
Through all of October, Prairie Gardens is holding a pumpkin fest and Halloween celebration. This place is pure fun and if you have kids, you really need to get them to this farm.
We went to celebrate Sturgeon County’s Bounty a couple of weeks ago on a beautiful autumn day.
Part of the celebration was to celebrate local food suppliers, restaurants and vendors. There’s some tasty stuff happening in Sturgeon County.

What festival would be complete without a couple of handsome knights? Check out these fellows from Knight Haven. They’re having a medieval feast this November 19th — you can purchase tickets on their website. They make their own chain mail and costumes. Very cool.

At Prairie Gardens you can roam with goats…
…and check out hearses and scary people…
…or check out yourself in a funny mirror.
There are handmade crafts to purchase like scarves made from alpaca fibre…
but if you just want to enjoy the day and the fresh air, take a stroll through the beautiful pathways…

Or hop on board the little train.

Check out Prairie Gardens website before you go. This is the perfect family destination…enjoy it now while the sunshine lasts!
